A claim that PBS donated its $200 million from the CARES Act to the Democrats is false. A number of changes were made to the PBS listings for opioid medicines for the treatment of pain on 1 June 2020. The changes include amendments to existing restriction requirements and arrangements for increased quantities and repeats.

Public media advocates say that the CPB funding is especially essential for small- and medium- sized stations, the loss of which would threaten the structure of the PBS network. A summary of these changes, including relevant item codes is available to assist prescribers to navigate these changes. PBS didn't get stimulus funds and isn't allowed to donate.
